HOW TO COMPARE RACKS

Ironside Armour

Choosing a power rack is not a decision to be taken lightly, neither financially nor functionally. Especially when there are so many options available on the market, it can be difficult to distinguish between different companies and their offerings.

There are five key areas to consider when comparing power racks: construction , design , consistency , ecosystem , and value . Here's how Ironside Armour power racks stack up against others on the market.

CONSTRUCTION

Construction refers to factors such as steel thickness, welds, and paint. We utilize state-of-the-art robotics in our new facility to build our power racks, including laser cutting, robotic welding, and robotic painting, all under one roof. This helps ensure a consistent, high-quality product, setting ONE standard for precision manufacturing.

DESIGN

The increased width helps ensure easy lifting and positioning of the barbell. Some competing racks are slightly wider, which often leads to clearance issues when positioning the barbell, creating safety concerns during a heavy lift.

The accessories come with soft plastic liners. This is an added feature that helps protect the paint on the rack, keeping it looking new. Most competitors do not offer this feature, or use it inconsistently.

We do not use stickers. Every logo on the rack is laser cut or stainless steel to ensure it looks great over time.

We also pay attention to details and accessory upgrades, such as chrome plating and special paint jobs (competitors use a powder coating that chips easily when moving the discs).

CONSISTENCY

We are committed to delivering you an excellent product without any defects. We ensure this by employing our own quality control team that is present daily for inspections and training to improve production methods, such as welding (even robots sometimes need support) and packaging. We also ensure that our packaging is designed to withstand the rough treatment it often goes through in transit. Our boxes are reinforced and the parts inside are further protected with inner packaging.

Our importing competitors often don’t invest in quality control, while those who produce in-house often don’t spend money on good packaging, which can cause problems for you both when receiving your goods and when trying to get a refund for damaged parts.

ECOSYSTEM

The ecosystem of accessories in a rack is one of the main reasons why one chooses one model over another. Other companies that import generally do not have a team of engineers dedicated to developing new products; they simply copy what already exists.

If the product is patented, they can't copy it. Many manufacturers rely on high accessory prices to compensate for a lower margin on the initial rack purchase, which means new accessories cost a fortune, while our manufacturing advantage also helps us keep costs lower.

VALUE

Value is always subjective, but we often try to position ourselves at the ideal balance point between price and quality.

Spending more often means investing only for a name or minor details that do not affect performance. Spending less probably means risking your health or giving up on future development of accessories.

Our accessories are also developed with value in mind, which is something many people overlook and regret later. It’s not just the base cost of the rack that you need to consider, but the entire ecosystem of accessories and what you expect future accessories to cost.

Racks used to be hand cut, hand welded, and hand painted. Today, wherever they are made, most racks are produced robotically, except for small shops that can’t afford robots or custom production. Our advantage, because of our scale, is that we can utilize the most modern manufacturing methods, including laser cutting, robotic welding, and robotic painting, to ensure a consistently priced, high-quality product.
