JUNIOR BAR

RESISTANCE

100K PSI tensile strength, a perfectly balanced value for daily use in educational settings and high-frequency training environments.

FLEXIBILITY

Indicates the amount of elastic rebound provided by the bar, which can be used to the athlete’s advantage during dynamic movements. With this bar, it is relatively low.

MATERIALS

Constructed from high-quality steel alloy. The chrome finish protects the surface from scratches and corrosion, helping to maintain a flawless appearance over time.

DIAMETER

The shaft diameter is 22 mm, an intermediate size designed to support technique development in young athletes.

BEARINGS

The integrated bushings and bearings offer exceptional shock resistance, ensuring smooth and quiet performance over time

WEIGHT

Weighing only 2.5 kg, this barbell is extremely versatile, ideal for developing technique without compromising training quality.

OXIDATION RESISTANCE

A barbell's resistance to oxidation depends on the steel grade and coating. Barbells rated at the lower end of the spectrum will require more care and maintenance to maintain their appearance than barbells at the higher end.

UNIQUE FEATURES

  • IMPECCABLE QUALITY

Built to IWF standards, it is crafted from premium, high-strength stainless steel alloy, making it a virtually everlasting training companion.

  • VOLCANO KNURLING

Our knurling is free of other plating, and is carefully finished for a firm but never abrasive grip, offering fantastic grip during all exercises.

  • PREMIUM FINISH

Each bar is precision machined and polished, ensuring a flawless finish, optimum uniformity and excellent bending performance.

  • ZERO NOISE

The bearings, together with the bushings, are designed to increase the life of the sleeves, ensuring smooth rotation, and offering greater stability and significant noise reduction during training.

  • SINGLE MARKING

The double or single markings (depending on the barbell chosen), are designed according to IWF and IPF standards, and help to intuitively position the hand on the barbell.

  • ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Refined design, meticulously studied in detail, with engravings, colors and elements carefully chosen to create an elegant barbell that stands out for its style and functionality.

What’s the difference between the Junior Barbell and the 150 cm / 180 cm Barbell?

The Junior Barbell is designed for young athletes or technical training: it weighs only 2.5 kg, features a 22 mm shaft, and is built for maximum control and safety.

In contrast, the 150 cm and 180 cm barbells are sturdier and suited for adults, with larger shaft diameters (25–28 mm), higher load capacities (up to 250 kg), and ideal for intense training in limited spaces.

What external covering was it designed with?

Unlike many other finishes applied to the outside of steel, this barbell is treated with a multi-stage chemical process that improves both its wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The process hardens the outside of the steel, making it extra tough, while also leaving a nice shiny finish. The barbell will be more resistant to corrosion than other finishes and will not wear as easily, as it is not a coating and therefore cannot chip.

What is the difference between bushings and bearings?

Bushings are made of self-lubricating materials, such as bronze or special alloys, and allow for smooth rotation without the use of complex moving parts. They are highly resistant to wear and require little maintenance, making them perfect for heavy-duty use in environments such as commercial gyms.

Bearings use balls or needles inside a metal cage to reduce friction and allow for extremely fast and smooth rotation. They are essential for dynamic exercises such as snatches and cleans and jerks, where the barbell must rotate quickly. They require periodic maintenance and can be more susceptible to wear and tear with heavy, prolonged use.

What are the markings on a barbell for?

Knurled markings allow lifters to position themselves correctly for weightlifting and provide a full and even view of the hands on the barbell. There are two main standards, one designed by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) and one by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

How do you clean the protective oil on the barbell shaft?

When your barbell arrives home, it will have a light coating of oil on the shaft and sleeves, which is to protect the barbell during shipping. After a few uses, this coating of oil will begin to dissipate, however, if desired, it can be cleaned using a rag and a disinfectant cleaner that does not contain harsh chemicals (such as bleach, ammonia, alcohol, or peroxide). Finally, apply a protective coating of a spray-on deoxidizer that has excellent water-repellent properties.

What types of tests have been done to ensure rust resistance?

We have conducted extensive salt spray testing to ensure industry-leading performance and unmatched rust resistance.

What is hard chrome and how is it different from regular chrome?

The main difference lies in the thickness of the coating and the resulting wear resistance.

Regular chrome is the shiny finish you find on car rims, musical instruments, tools, and hardware. It offers good rust resistance but is more prone to wear and flaking over time.

Hard Chrome is most commonly used in industrial applications requiring high wear resistance. It is much stronger and less likely to flake or deteriorate than regular chrome.

What does the knurling style indicate?

The knurling style indicates the characteristic pattern that is applied to a particular barbell, and serves to improve the grip during training.

Our barbells offer three types of knurling: hill , volcano and mountain.

The hill is a more passive style, non-abrasive on the hands and ideal for training bars. Perfect for those training with moderate loads or for long sessions, where comfort is a priority.

The mountain is the most aggressive style, designed for powerlifting bars. It offers the most secure grip for tackling maxes or extreme loads, and is ideal for those looking for maximum control during exercises.

The Volcano is the most common style of weightlifting barbell and is ideal for mixed use. It provides excellent grip without being overly abrasive and perfectly balances grip and comfort, making it the most versatile choice.

Are Ironside Armour barbells compatible with other brands of plates and equipment?

Our barbells are designed to be compatible with all standard plates with 2 inch (50 mm) diameter center holes.

The sleeves seem to be scratched, how is this possible?

If the sleeves seem to be scratched, wipe them down with a cloth and they will be as good as new. The coating is so tough that it can actually remove material from the inside of the discs, but the sleeves will not scratch or chip.

How do I take care of my barbell?

This barbell is designed to last for many years with minimal maintenance. Simply apply our deoxidizing spray lubricant every 2-4 weeks with excellent water-repellent properties, useful for removing moisture from the treated surfaces, and providing a long-lasting protective action.

To clean dirt or chalk from the knurling you can also use a brush and finally apply our lubricant.

Why should I choose your barbell?

This barbell is designed for athletes who appreciate refined details and are willing to invest a little more to have a product designed to last for many years, which never goes unnoticed in any gym.

This is a high-end barbell, equipped with premium features, fully compliant with the standards of the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF), and further distinguishes itself with the specially designed customization options, which establish a status of excellence for those seeking the ultimate in performance and design.
